Why is Vacuum Press Dried Wood Best?
Because the wood is dried under vacuum while being pressed, there is minimal cupping and twisting which means:
> the wood contains far less tension so it is much easier to process through your saws and planer. Easier processing increases the longevity of equipment and reduces maintenance costs. (PLUS - it is just a whole lot more fun and safer to work with!)
> the effect of reduced cupping and twisting is significantly less waste for much higher yield (and lower costs).
